About

Zhaleh Boyd Phillips, PhD (she/her) is a Sociologist, Intuitive Guide & Medical Intuit, Leadership Facilitator, Writer, Painter and Birth Keeper.

A dynamic storyteller, facilitator and expert in trauma resolution, Zhaleh offers consultations, courses and books that open hearts and expand minds. She’s devoted to holistic healing while confronting intergenerational trauma, social injustice and self-destruction in her work, all with clarity, precision, and love.

With more than 28 years of field research and global citizenship, Dr. Phillips holds a PhD in Contemporary Slavery (University of Hull/WISE), an MA in Public Diplomacy (USC), and a BA in English (Clark Atlanta University). She is Chief Strategist for Sugar Heal Gang, a Los Angeles collective of Black birth workers that has supported over 100 BIPOC birthing families since 2020; co-founder of Reclamation of Wisdom, a maternal health care fund; and creator of Mimiya, a postpartum app serving birthing people.

When she’s not teaching or creating, you’ll find Zhaleh cooking, dancing, laughing, collaging, traveling, nurturing, and naturing. Warm, magnetic, and richly intuitive, she has a profound and fragrant presence—like that of lavender and basil in the herb garden.
